Fat Kids

OK fill me in on the Here Comes Honey Boo Boo thing. I don't watch television and I have evidently missed the obesity epidemic in this family.

From what I can tell - this is pretty mindless.

  1. Honey Boo Boo and the American adoration and acceptance of obesity and utter stupidity grates my nerves to the point where my husband and I have seriously begun talking about moving to another country.

I am disgusted with our "culture." I'm ashamed of how and what we eat in America. We NEEEEEEED to change as a whole. It's downright depressing.

Oh...and Honey Boo Boo's mom's pic is on my fridge as a deterrent to mindless eating. I see her and want to puke because she is everything wrong with society.

    Sorry. My rant is over.

    1. I guess I just don't get why we glorify stupidity. And the kicker is PEOPLE WATCH THIS OR IT WOULDN'T STAY ON. This is such a comment on America as a whole. The gluttony is rampant and is becoming the new normal. We are circling the drain folks. Be careful out there today.

  2. What Chubby McGee said.

I can't stand to watch it, which is saying a lot because I'm actually a reality/trashy TV junkie. But this show is just too much...horrifying.

    1. What can we expect from homes like this one? This is where our workforce comes from. It is where the people who will take our places one day come from. It is sad. Really, really sad. Take care.

  3. I hate this show. Will.Not.Watch.It. Every now then I stumble across these idiots in interviews. They have to run "tape" along the bottom of the screen because no one can understand what these people are saying. Like they are foreign. And they scratch and burp and fart knowing they are on TV. And everyone laughs. It is horrifying. Honestly, this is like watching the lowest common denominator in action and the people loving it. On some level, it has to be acting. That is what I keep telling myself. They are climbing down to the lowest possible level to "sell it." And it is working. And America is lapping it up with a spoon. Well, not all of America. About half of America is gagging. Let's say the 47%, the 1%, and another 2% love it. Everyone else... tuning out.

    1. What kind of a mind enjoys watching this and calling it entertainment? What kind of person will trade 1/2 hour of life to sit in front of a TV and watch this? I would feel embarrassed I think by associating myself with this in any way - even in the privacy of my own home. It's truly pitiable. Take care.

  5. haha! I've watched a couple of episodes. Maybe they are really dumb and obese, but could they just be portraying that to an extreme? I read that the mom sets aside all of the money they make from the show to go towards her daughter's future education, endeavors (whatever that may entail!). I just read yesterday that she says she lost 100lbs. But it was by activity, not eating properly. I think they are crazy and over the top, but that is what America loves (side note: America also loves fried things, nudity, and stupid pet tricks). Have a good weekend Myra!

    1. I tend to think that is really how the family is. I would need some before and after pictures to believe the 100 lb. loss and question whether having a baby was part of the loss she claims. You have a good weekend as well.
