Don't Understand This

Competitive Eating still puzzles me.

After eating 8,610 calories anyone would be miserable for quite some time. This would also be quite a strain on the heart and the digestive system.

Just don't get it.

    1. Remember when that woman took a challenge by a radio station about drinking water to win a game and died from it? Do we assume our health is negotiable? Happy New Year!

  2. I agree - there's just something gross about it.

  3. Real competitive eating is eating sensibly. That can be tough during the holidays. It must become a lifestyle.

    1. I agree. The holidays are full of opportunities to overeat. Getting back to eating sensibly is a welcome thing for me. I am ready to get back to normal. Take care.

  4. This kind of eating is absurd. My brother-in-law and I used to have eating contests, but our combined intake would be overshadowed by that of a true competitive eater. The concept is somewhat funny, but when you really think about it it's pretty disgusting. Anybody remember the pie-eating contest fantasy in the movie Stand By Me?

    1. I am not a movie or TV watcher so I haven't seen that. Do these people make any money eating like this? I just wonder if the paycheck is worth the price their health pays. It is disgusting. Take care.
